An introduction to the member offering, with useful resources for your office and clients.
The sale might be over, but the livestock still have a journey ahead. For RMA Network members, RMA Insurance Brokers offers access to a dedicated Livestock in Transit insurance arrangement through NTI Insurance, with cover information and member resources available online.
Whether your office regularly arranges livestock transit insurance or it’s something you only deal with occasionally, having a specialist option available through RMA Insurance Brokers gives you another way to support clients.
And if you haven’t looked at it recently, it’s a good time to see what’s available.
“When a client asks about livestock transit insurance, it helps to know what your member arrangement offers and where to find the information.”
Livestock in Transit cover through RMA Insurance Brokers
The RMA Insurance Brokers Livestock in Transit arrangement is underwritten by NTI Insurance and is designed for livestock being transported within Australia.
It includes cover for death or physical injury to insured livestock during transit, humane slaughter, theft and non-delivery.
Additional benefits include mustering costs, accident-site clean-up and disposal costs, and certain additional freight expenses following an insured loss.
Cover and additional benefits are subject to the NTI policy wording, applicable conditions, exclusions and limits.
For RMA Network members, RMA Insurance Brokers is available to explain how it works, answer questions about the cover and assist with applications for your office and clients.
A few features worth knowing about
Key limits:
| member cover | Limit | |---|---:| | Any one loss or series of losses arising from one event | $350,000 | | Registered pedigree breeding animal | $35,000 per animal | | Ordinary livestock animal | $5,000 per animal | | Excess | Nil |
With no excess, members can offer clients a straightforward option at the point of sale.
The registered breeding animal limit may be particularly relevant for clients transporting higher-value stud livestock.
These are maximum limits, with cover subject to the NTI policy wording, conditions and applicable exclusions.
We’ve brought the member resources together
There’s a dedicated section on the RMA Insurance Brokers website where RMA Network members can find information about Livestock in Transit without having to search for individual documents.
You’ll find the NTI policy wording and member schedule, along with an online insurance application for members whose offices don’t yet have access to the arrangement.
We’ve also included Meat & Livestock Australia’s Fit to Load video and an optional Livestock in Transit knowledge check for members and their staff.
The knowledge check gives you and your staff a chance to refresh your understanding before responding to client enquiries.
